Storytimes led by library staff trained in the Every Child Ready to Read curriculum are called "classes" -all the fun and learning of storytime, but the term "classes" more accurately reflects the learning and teaching that happens in these classes.
Kids and families are invited to our Pajama Party with the Teddy Bear Band! Wear your jammies and bring your teddies for games, crafts, and music with this always-popular band! Activities & crafts start at 10:30 and the Teddy Bear Band performs at 11:00am!

Scott County Library and Smalltown Eclectic present, Loud! at the Library open mic and art night. Monday September 25th 6 pm to 8 pm @ the Belle Plaine Library. *Open Mic for ages 12-112 *5 minutes per act *All genres welcome. Please show up at 6 pm sharp to sign up. Piano, acoustic guitar, and bongos will be available for use. *Art Exhibit for all ages *All mediums. Join Carver-Scott County Master Gardeners at the Prior Lake Library for a series of gardening classes on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM beginning 2/26/2018 and running through 4/16/2018.

AARP will offer free tax assistance to senior adults and low-income families eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Volunteer counselors, trained and certified by AARP, will prepare tax returns on Tuesdays, February 6, 2018 through April 10, 2018. Check in starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends when the schedule is filled. Doors to the library building open at 9:00 a.m. and doors close at 3:00 p.m. Counselors may assist with basic federal and state returns. Complex returns including depreciation, business, and farm income will not be accepted. Federal, state income and rent credit/property tax refunds will be E-filed. You will need to bring the following with you:
Health insurance status as required by IRS for ALL family members
Both spouses must sign the return if filing as married
Picture ID, Social Security card and last year's tax returns
Records of last year's income from all sources: social security, pensions, W-2 income, interest, dividends, and capital gains ( stock sales, home sale)
Records of unemployment collected, disability income and county assistance
Certificate of rent paid (CRP) or Scott County Property Tax statement
if itemizing, records of deductible expenses: medical, health insurance, long term care insurance, taxes paid, mortgage interest, charitable contributions

Participants will design an interesting image on cork, then add small nails to the outer lines of the design and "string" colorful yarn or embroidery thread between the nails in a crisscross fashion. Presented by Artistry.
