Enjoy Minnesota winter with a FREE kicksledding adventure with Three Rivers Park District! Learn about this Scandinavian method of winter transportation and go for a tour at Memorial Park next to the library, with a campfire and s’mores after. All equipment provided.
NOTE: if less than 2 inches of snow, we’ll geocache instead!
Registration is required as class size is limited - if adult is coming as well, you only need to register the child. Please register before Friday 2/23.

AARP Income Tax Assistance

AARP will offer free tax assistance to senior adults and low-income families eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit.  Volunteer counselors, trained and certified by AARP, will prepare tax returns on Tuesdays, February 6, 2018 through April 10, 2018.  Check in starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends when the schedule is filled.  Doors to the library building open at 9:00 a.m. and doors close at 3:00 p.m. Counselors may assist with basic federal and state returns.  Complex returns including depreciation, business, and farm income will not be accepted.  Federal, state income and rent credit/property tax refunds will be E-filed.  You will need to bring the following with you:

Health insurance status as required by IRS for ALL family members

Both spouses must sign the return if filing as married

Picture ID, Social Security card and last year's tax returns

Records of last year's income from all sources: social security, pensions, W-2 income, interest, dividends, and capital gains ( stock sales, home sale)

Records of unemployment collected, disability income and county assistance

Certificate of rent paid (CRP) or Scott County Property Tax statement

if itemizing, records of deductible expenses: medical, health insurance, long term care insurance, taxes paid, mortgage interest, charitable contributions

Hands On! - String Art - REGISTRATION REQUIRED
