Artist Spotlight! Pop-In Block Printing with Bob, all ages

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Block prints of sun and tree
Belle Plaine Library
Belle Plaine - Meeting Room
Drop by and make fun prints with some of local artist Bob Pollard's favorite blocks, and watch while he carves a new block from linoleum.

Block printing is a form of relief printing, one of the easiest and most direct of all the print-making methods. Reverse images are carved into wood, linoleum, or other materials and then inked and pressed onto paper or other surface.

Having been a printer for many years, Bob does a lot of work with linoleum and wood block printing, both in his home studio and studio/gallery space in the Northrup King Building. Bob believes that art is an adventure and strives to inspire other artists, beginners to veterans, to approach it boldly and never be afraid to try something new or unusual.
